CAN BLANCH

The plot has five terraces and the house is located on the highest one. A set of stone walls organizes a concatenation of interior spaces, porches and patios. Thus the limits of the house are blurred and the landscape enters each room.
Above the heavy stone walls, a white crown frames the space of the home, changing thickness to contain the spaces and generate double heights.
The most powerful stone wall, the one that runs through the entire house, marks the access through a garden of lavender, rosemary and mint.
The entrance, the double-height living room, the dining room and the kitchen belong to the same space and are connected around a patio.
A second living room gives access to three equal rooms for three children on the ground floor.
The main room is contained in the volumes of the roof and connected to the double height of the main living room through a library that flies above it.
The roof generates large shadows on its south and east sides (south for spring-autumn use, and east for summer). In this way, large porches are formed that represent the extension of the interior space of the house, expanding the living room and dining room.
Different gardens and the pool form a mosaic around the house, creating environments that fade into the pre-existing vegetation.
The stone used throughout the house is obtained from the same plot, integrating the construction into the landscape.
